New secondary market for Squirrel allows investors to on-sell loans

Peer-to-peer lending platform Squirrel Money has launched a secondary market for investors.

It is the first peer-to-peer provider to do so. It gives investors the ability to sell investments they have made in loans via Squirrel Money, if they need to access their funds early.

It relies on other investors being willing to match the original terms they offered the borrower.

Squirrel managing director John Bolton said it would mean more liquidity for investors and should give more the confidence to invest in longer-term loans.
