SOS Hydration seeks to raise $2.3m through Snowball Effect

SOS Hydration, a drink which compares itself to an intravenous drip for combating dehydration, is looking to raise up to $2.3 million (US$1.5m) through crowdfunding.

The company, which is based in the United States but majority owned by New Zealanders, is seeking to raise the money through Snowball Effect. The minimum investment is $10,000.

The company has privately raised more than US$805,000 (NZ$1.22m) from other investors, including a member of the Hennessy drinks family.

“The US sports nutrition market, worth US$5.9 billion and forecast to grow to US$6.5b in 2017, is our single biggest opportunity, which is why we’ve registered and based our company there,” he said.
