We are a passionate and highly committed team. We are based at One Faraday in Parnell which provides a casual working environment, located in an innovative precinct, and unlimited coffee. We work closely together as a whole team. The different part of our business are formed around the way that we work with investors and entrepreneurs.
Our venture sourcing team are responsible for finding the best startups and high-growth companies to raise capital through Snowball Effect. This involves understanding what types of capital can most help a company to grow and connecting with the New Zealand community of startups, investors and advisors.
People in our venture team tend to have worked in a startup so they understand the difference that good investors can make. They are also well connected in the private equity and venture capital community because we share deals among other strategic investors.
Our operations team are responsible for assessing applications from companies that want to raise capital, managing the screening committee process, drafting information memorandums and preparing offers to launch on the platform or go to private investors. They see a deal all the way through to closing including anti-money laundering checks, funds transfer, as well as supporting companies with ongoing shareholder communication and engagement.
Ideal people for our deal team include former securities lawyers, investment bankers and accountants with corporate finance backgrounds.
Our investor relations team build personal relationships with our key investors and provide support for our whole investor base. They spend their time getting to know each investor and understanding what sorts of deals suit each investor. This team has an intimate knowledge of the entire private capital landscape in New Zealand from high-net worth early stage investors and venture capital firms through to private equity funds and institutional investors.
People in the investment team tend be from a stock broking, finance and corporate law backgrounds. This team acts as the champions of our investors, so they also get involved all aspects of the investment process from venture sourcing through to deal operations and closings.
Our design and development team are the creators of the Snowball Effect platform. Our platform brings together companies and investors in a way that is fast, easy and secure. Our development stack is primarily focused around Laravel, MySQL, Angular and React.
People in the development team come from different backgrounds including software development for banking, finance and other complex enterprise applications. We run a light version of agile development that involves the whole team working together to define priorities and collaborating on the design, build and testing of new features.
Our growth team are responsible for building our reputation and growing the business. We combine paid, owned and earned channels such as digital advertising, content marketing and public relations. This team acts as a champion for our users and is responsible for user experience improvements that will make our products and services faster and easier to use.
Members of the marketing team come from backgrounds in finance and technology where complex products need to explained to customers clearly and simply.
